I've got him at work indexing the filed survey maps from San Joaquin County that are no longer included in the Dickey Book (hard copy map index).

I've put up the first shapefile resulting from his efforts. Things went a little slow this weekend (our first weekend working together on the project) because I was teaching him how to read the maps and create the Shapefiles in BizzJUMP. But I think the Shapefile has about 10 maps in it. Hopefully we will get some more done next weekend.

You can download the Shapefile, and keep up with Julian's effort on the project, from the San Joaquin County Filed Survey Map Index web page I'm hosting at the Redefined Horizons web site.

The Sunburned Surveyor

Historic HT Compton Map of Stockton Now Online

Keith Spencer of Northstar Engineering was kind enough to provide me with a digital copy of an old map of the City of Stockton by HT Compton.
